Chidimma Adetshina, the first runner-up at the Miss Universe competition, has announced her departure from the world of pageantry, describing the experience as traumatic.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina shared her struggles, revealing that her journey in the beauty industry has taken an emotional toll. She also disclosed her plans to relocate to Nigeria from South Africa, where she previously resided.
Finishing in the top 2 [at Miss Universe] is still a shocker for me, she said. “Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me. There were times I almost quit during the Miss Universe contest. I want to focus on myself, establish who I am, and forward my education.”
Despite her challenges, Adetshina’s achievements are notable. After finishing as the 1st runner-up, she was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania. Previously, she held the title of Miss Nigeria, a role she earned after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest due to controversy surrounding her nationality. Adetshina’s decision marks a turning point as she shifts her focus toward personal growth and future ambitions.
