In a glorious tribute to Benin City's finest, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has announced the naming of the upcoming 6,000-capacity Edo Arena after global Afrobeats sensation, Rema. This milestone was celebrated during the groundbreaking ceremony in Benin City, where Rema joined the governor to lay the first block.
Governor Obaseki expressed his delight in having Rema, a proud son of Edo State, participate in the historic event. "Rema's Dome" will become a hub for diverse events, including concerts, conferences, symposiums, and large gatherings, boosting tourism and creating youth employment opportunities.
Located at the former Garrick Memorial School Ground on Ekenhuan Road, the arena promises to showcase Edo State's rich cultural heritage. Rema, born Divine Ikubor, has consistently celebrated his Benin roots through hits like "Benin Boys," featuring Shallipopi, solidifying his status as a cultural ambassador.
