During an interview with Toke Makinwa, the talented Nigerian actress opened up about why she has chosen to remain single. According to Ini Edo, she believes in being with a man who genuinely loves and respects her.
Ini Edo emphasized that she would never consider being in a toxic relationship. She had previously been married to businessman Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2013. In a later interview, she expressed regret about getting married, realizing that it wasn't the right decision for her. In the recent interview with Toke Makinwa, Ini Edo explained, "I'm single because all I want is someone who will truly love me. I can't be in a poisonous relationship. If you can't provide me with the protective energy I need to respect you, then we can't be together. Respect is crucial to me, and if you can't earn my respect, there's no point in being together."
She further emphasized that once a man starts disrespecting her, she would lose respect for him as well. Ini Edo believes that even in challenging situations, it's important to manage them with kindness and surround yourself with the right people.
