Music executive Ubi Franklin has addressed misconceptions surrounding his relationship with Afrobeats star Davido, firmly stating that he is neither a personal assistant nor a caretaker. The clarification came in response to a comment on X (formerly Twitter) that referred to him as Davido’s personal assistant and that of his wife.
In his response, Ubi highlighted his professional role, emphasizing his qualifications and business expertise. “I am the CEO of Made Men Music Group (Mademusicg). If you see me working with Davido, it’s because I have the skills and experience to manage business operations. Davido calls me The Solutionist, and that’s the role I play. Not his PA or nanny, as some of you like to suggest,” Ubi stated.
This isn’t the first time Ubi’s role has been misinterpreted. In March 2022, Nigerian artist Timaya referred to Ubi as Davido’s “nanny” in a tweet. Davido later joked about the term during a jet ride in October 2023, adding a humorous twist to the ongoing narrative.
Ubi has made it clear that he is focused on the business side of things and remains committed to his role as a key strategist in Davido’s team.
