The Lagos State High Court has ordered social media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory content related to prominent lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN), and his son, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz.

The court also ruled that VeryDarkMan must pay N500 million in damages to the Falanas for libel. This ruling came after the court reviewed the claims outlined in the pre-action documents.

The dispute centers around social media posts made by VeryDarkMan on September 24, 2024, in which he linked Bobrisky to Falz and his father. According to the court, these statements were defamatory and harmful to the Falanas' public image. The Falanas argued that VeryDarkMan knew the statements were false but published them with the intent to damage their reputations. The court noted that the defamatory content remains online across VeryDarkMan’s social media platforms, prolonging the harm to the Falanas' reputation.
