Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has denied recent allegations that he paid the Falana family to secure a presidential pardon during his time in prison for Naira abuse. He addressed the accusations via his Instagram stories, just hours after the Falana family demanded a public apology within 12 hours over claims made in a viral audio clip released by VeryDarkMan (VDM) last month.
VDM had shared two audio recordings, allegedly featuring Bobrisky in conversation with another individual. In one of the clips, a person claimed to have approached rapper Falz for help in persuading his father, renowned lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), to secure a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10 million. The individual also reportedly asked Falz for N3 million to ensure better conditions at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Another audio clip shared by VDM suggested that the individual, allegedly Bobrisky, had paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to facilitate a Federal Government pardon for charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In response, Bobrisky has strongly denied being the person in the audio recordings. He stated on Instagram that his lawyer will release an official statement refuting the claims, insisting that the accusations are false and that he was not involved in the conversations.
