Afrobeats star Timaya recently shared an intriguing story about Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, highlighting his fearless nature and unshakable self-belief. In an interview with Naija FM in Lagos, Timaya recounted a heated moment in the studio involving Burna Boy, Omawumi, and Waje.
According to Timaya, the incident occurred years ago when Nigerian artists hadn’t yet started flying private jets. Burna Boy confidently predicted that he would one day be paid to board a private jet. However, Omawumi and Waje expressed skepticism, which triggered Burna Boy’s reaction.
"Burna Boy was saying a time would come when he’d be paid to enter a jet. Omawumi and Waje doubted him because, at that time, no Nigerian artist was flying private. He got angry, opened the studio door, and asked them to leave," Timaya recounted.
Timaya praised Burna Boy’s fearlessness, saying his success comes as no surprise:
"Nothing Burna Boy is doing now surprises me. The guy is fearless."
This story underscores Burna Boy’s determination and vision, even when others doubted him—a quality that has undoubtedly contributed to his meteoric rise in the global music scene.Click here to watch video
