In a recent interview on Channels TV's Rubbin' Minds, singer Ric Hassani shared his opinion on the state of Afrobeats music. He expressed that the quality of Afrobeats has dropped drastically and noted that the hit songs of years back were quality music while the current hit songs are "not very good music." Hassani mentioned that the genre has become too popular and that the quality of music is suffering because of it. 
Despite this observation, he shared his belief that the level of Afrobeats music will improve thanks to more people wanting to get involved in the genre.Click here to watch video
